The most intriguing thing for me at the moment.
I don't have an answer to it. I don't have any good experience of it.
Getting honest feedback. People don't.
Don't know if it's an issue where the manager is all about the delegation, does all the talking.
People feel dismissed.
I've had it the other way, asking direct report for feedback regularly, they don't give it.
Those managers most desperate to portray an image of everything being fine, they are handling things very well, others don't need to know, they are creating the most toxic situations.
But on the other hand, it's very embarrassing for the manager to appear to not have it under control.
How much do you compromise, do you feel you compromise too much? It's not that clear cut, it's a grey area. Like exercising in the gym, push yourself too much you get injured, push yourself too little you don't grow. It's a thin line to tread, that's always moving. And we are constantly getting it wrong. With time tough, with the right experience, we learn to get it right more of the time. That's all, it won't be right all of the time. And we settle with the fact that we can't pleas everybody, but we still strive to make it better. Keep finding it intriguing to make it better.
